Hellerup is a great city, just about 8 km north of Copenhagen K. Hellerup is at the finer end, but here is room for everyone. Almost everything is found here. Port, beach, forest, parks, shopping and a cosy atmosphere. It is relatively quiet, although the Strandvejen may be a little busy in the summer, as all the walkways north to the many beaches and natural areas. Hellerup lies right in the middle of Copenhagen and urban life, and then north where it is so incredibly beautiful. Within a few kilometres of Charlottenlund Fort, Bellevue Strand, Bernstoff Castle / Park and Bakken. Hellerup is known for its good schools (Private and international schools) and institutions, and here also 2 colleges. It's really child-friendly. Lots of playgrounds, hiding around, Experimentarium is perfect for all ages, and here are many sports and leisure activities. There are many great offers and events on the library, but also Gentofte Night (like Culture Night) is a reversing thing. Hellerup Station is located centrally and connects almost all the S-trains, as well as the coast track. It takes 10 minutes with the train to Copenhagen Centre, and trains run all the time. There are also many good bus connections. It is easy to cycle around in Hellerup, also fairly quickly to ride into the city if the weather is good for it. The beach road is a central location in Hellerup and is best characterized by the many shops, ice shops and cosy cafes and restaurants. Here is also a small tavern, Saint Peder, which is very popular for their food and cozy atmosphere, for both young and old. Especially in the summer. Restaurant Esther's Dining House is also extremely popular. It is primarily villa, terraced houses and old apartment complexes that you find in Hellerup. Not really the big, overwhelming buildings.
